Live-In Pet Sitting Details
~ Pets stay in their home.
~ Booked as a 24-hour service.
~ No additional daytime charges.
~ Guarantees pets are not alone longer than you request.
~ Pet sitter on-site overnight for potty breaks or emergencies.
~ Includes feeding, walking, playtime, medications, bringing in mail, setting out/bringing in trash receptacles.
~ Rates are based on a 24-hour time period from arrival to departure.
~ Starts at $125/day.

If this amount is shocking, please consider: $125 divided by 24 hours = $5.20 per hour. As of January 1, 2026, Arizona’s minimum wage is $15.15. $15.15 x 24 hours = $363.60. Another way of looking at this – if your pet(s) is/are not alone for more than 4 hours at a time and a total of 8 hours of the day, that means I am spending no less than 16 hours at your home. 16 hours x $15.15 = $242.40 per 24-hour booking. Even being generous and deducting 8 hours of sleep time = $121.10.

Rates are applicable for Sedona, Village of Oak Creek, Page Springs, Cottonwood, Cornville, Clarkdale and Jerome. Rates may vary depending on mileage and drive-time to your home, the number of pets and their health status. A 50% deposit is requested at time of booking and the balance is due in full on the first day of service.

Extended care rates may apply if the final day end time is 2 hours or more later than the start time on the first day.
~ 2 to 6 additional hours starts at $30/hour.
~ 6 or more hours is 100% of the live-in rate.

If the booking is cancelled:
~ by 12:00 noon 30 days prior to first date of service, you receive a full refund.
~ after 12:00 noon 30 days prior to first date of service, the deposit is considered a cancellation fee.
~ less than 24 hours prior to the first date of service, the remaining balance is due.

If all of the above is amenable and I am available for your dates we schedule a free meet-and-greet. This is an opportunity for you and your pet(s) to meet me and you can determine whether I’m a good fit. I ask a lot of questions and we discuss everything I need to know about caring for your pets and your home, if needed. After we meet, I email a Veterinarian Medical Consent & Release form for you to complete in case there is an emergency.

If I am not a good fit, I can provide referrals for other pet-sitters who offer the same or similar services. I also have referrals if you are needing a trainer or boarding for your dog.

We enthusiastically recommend Laura Schappert as a pet sitter and house sitter. Laura recently took care of our two Boston Terrier/Pug mixes, Finnley and Jullian, while we were out of town for a week, and we could not have been more pleased with the experience. We first met Laura while she was caring for our neighbor’s dog, and we were immediately impressed with her attentiveness, professionalism, and the loving way she interacted with the pet in her care. That impression was only reinforced when we entrusted her with the care of our own dogs and our home. Laura did an excellent job. Finnley and Jullian were clearly well looked after—happy, healthy, and relaxed when we returned. It was evident they had received plenty of love, attention, and proper care. In addition, our house was kept in immaculate condition, which we greatly appreciated after being away. We are very particular about who we trust with our pets and home, and Laura exceeded all of our expectations. Her reliability, kindness, and attention to detail gave us peace of mind while we were away. Without hesitation, we will absolutely utilize Laura’s services again the next time we travel, and we feel very fortunate to have found someone so capable and caring. Laura has been a pet/house sitter for me and my husband for over a year. During this past year, we have requested Laura’s services on a number of occasions, which have included weeks, for travel as well as for days at a time, for medical issues. In regard to pet-sitting , Laura cares for our 4 year old cat, as well as looking after our outdoor hummingbirds and songbirds. Our cat is very fond of Laura and is always happy to see her when she arrives. Laura is professional and detail oriented and always keeps in touch with us via text, sending updates along with photos of our cat in various play situations. In regard to house-sitting, Laura picks up our mail, puts out trash if we’re out of town on Trash Day, in addition to watering house -plants and outdoor plants. My husband and I have a high respect for Laura and feel secure, leaving our pet and house in her care. We would definitely recommend her services for the care of your pet and/or house. Laura has been our pet sitter since we moved to Sedona in May of 2024. I was so nervous because we were leaving for a week just a short time after moving into our new home and my terrier, Will, has Addison’s Disease which means stress can make him go into shock. Our big dog, Ducky, is also a bit nervous so it was so important for them to have the best care. Laura absolutely exceeded all expectations! She visited a couple times to meet Will and Ducky so they would be comfortable with her. She gave them lots of love and played with them and they immediately took to her. There were absolutely no problems at all during our week away and Laura sent pictures and updates every day. It was obvious Will and Ducky were living their best lives. After we returned, they kept going into the spare room – looking for Laura! I have never seen them so attached to a pet sitter. Now, whenever I tell them Laura is coming to stay, they get so excited and immediately run to the spare room looking for her. We have used Laura many times over the past year and already have her booked for our next trip in November. I highly recommend Laura – she’s the best! Elizabeth LeMaster, Sedona, Arizona
